Julie Hayes
Julie Hayes is a professional artist who paints in watercolor and oils. She prefers painting from life, especially plein air painting with the challenge of ever-changing light and color. Julie’s paintings are created by building up and layering color on textured gesso-coated paper or canvas, creating a mysterious quality in her work that can have the appearance of oils. The finished watercolor is then protected with a UV resistant acrylic finish so it can be framed with or without glass.
Julie is a native of Iowa, lived in North Carolina for 17 years before recently relocating to NW Arkansas. She earned a Studio Art degree from Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC. She is a founding/charter member of the Piedmont Outdoor Painting Society
